Guts And Glory : Volume 3 - 1960-1966 Stock Car Racing
1960 World 600 (color - 27 min)
The inaugural race of the World 600 in Charlotte, North Carolina! A great color film! In this one we
catch a rare glimpse of the 1960 Petty Team consisting of 1960 Plymouths with those HUGE tail fins
(photo upper left). Joe Lee Johnson wins the race in his Chevrolet.

1961 Daytona 500 (color - 12 min)
Marvin Panch takes the victory in a Pontiac. A shorter b&w version of this film is included in our
'Guts And Glory Vol. 1', but we included this recently discovered color version (which is also longer) as a bonus!

1962 Season Highlights  (color - 14 min)
Titled "Four Cornered Turnpike", this highlight compares how we drive on a modern freeway verses
how the NASCAR boys do it on the race track. 1962 highlights from Charlotte, Darlington, and Atlanta
features the winning brand of the day: Pontiac!

1965 American 500   (color - 26 min)
The inaugural race at the Rockingham Speedway in North Carolina (Oct. 31, 1965), and the legendary
Curtis Turner takes a surprising win, his first victory in over 7 years. Cale Yarborough comes in 2nd.

Ned Jarrett Documentary Film & 1966 American 500  (b&w - 50 min)
Very informative NASCAR film featuring Ned Jarrett. The first segment follows Ned around in a typical day at the
office (scripted of course) where we see him making some speeches, handling the daily problems of getting his
Ford stock car ready for the next race, and what a NASCAR driver goes through the week before a race. This
film is included (in color) in our "Ford Blue Oval Dominance" DVD, but this version is longer (by about 4
minutes), and includes some footage from around the Jarrett household, including rare film of 9-year old
Dale Jarrett. The film then transitions into a  28-minute segment called "My Last Race". Still narrated by Ned,
we see highlights of his last race, the 1966 American 500 at Rockingham, NC. While it would have been a
storybook ending to Jarrett's career if he could have won his last race, Fred Lorenzen takes the win.
NOTE : These are NOT the "Back In The Day" programs (hosted by Dale Earnhardt Jr.) that appeared on
SpeedChannel a few years ago. Please understand that these highlight reels were originally shot on FILM, not
video. I am trying to be as honest as I can about the film quality. These films were originally intended for the
smaller TV sets of the 60's, so they may appear grainy on the big TV sets of today.
