| 2 complete 1980 races on 1-DVD! The 1980 U.S. Nationals is an original Diamond P broadcast with commentators Dave McClelland and Steve Evans, the 2rd race is a rarity, the 1980 PHR Nationals! |

| 1980 U.S. Nationals (42 min) The 1980 U.S. Nationals was considered the 'Upset Nationals' for many reasons. A young upstart named Lee Shepherd wielded the Reher-Morrison Pro Stock Camaro to a victory in the Final Round over the heavily favored Bob Glidden, who uncharacteristically redlighted. The big guns of the Top Fuel ranks were taken out early with some stunning upsets. Jr. Kaiser takes the win over Connie Kalitta, Shirley Muldowney redlights, handing the victory to relative unknown and unsponsored driver named Terry Capp, who then goes on to stun Jeb Allen in the final round! Points leader Gary Beck has transmission trouble and loses his reverse gear, handing the win to Jim Head. In Funny Car, an unknown named Roy Harris defeats #1 Qualifier Raymond Beadle's 'Blue Max' in the first round! A young Billy Meyer shocks Don Prudhomme in the second round, winning by a couple car lengths. Another upset occurs when Tom Ridings, driving the Pisano Funny Car, stuns Billy Meyer with a victory. Ed 'The Ace' McCulloch takes the Funny Car win in the 'Super Shops' car. 1980 Popular Hot Rodding Nationals (54 min) Phenomenal race from Martin, Michigan. All the stars are at this one! Includes some night racing, coverage of some Sportsman classes, etc. The legendary Shirley Muldowney takes the Top Fuel win over Don Garlits, and there are some rare interviews along the way, including Billy Meyer, Gary Burgin, and Tom Hoover, Roland Leong, and Ron Colson. Also, a great little commercial for Hurst Shifters by the one and only Linda Vaughn. |
